Materials & Craftsmanship

Constructed from solid brass, not plated, not finished over a cheaper core — this is a brass spice grinder built with material integrity from the inside out. The precision grinding mechanism handles whole peppercorns with ease and moves equally well through whole spices: coriander seed, cumin, cardamom, dried chilli. The slim 4cm diameter is intentional, giving a confident grip without bulk. As with all solid brass, she will mellow and deepen with every use, a quality that mass-produced kitchen tools can never replicate.

Care
Brass is a living material. With everyday use — your touch, the air, a little humidity, the brush of a salt cellar — it gradually deepens and develops a patina that is unique to your home. We see this softening as part of her character, not a flaw to be polished away.

If you prefer to keep her finish bright and as-new, gently buff the exterior with a soft cloth and a small amount of ordinary metal polish. Brass is naturally more resistant to oxidation than other metals, so a light polish from time to time is all she needs.

Please never wash the grinder in water. Moisture will corrode the inner mechanism and shorten her life. To clean inside, simply tip out any residual spice and wipe the chamber with a dry cloth.
